Transform Spare Time Into Gaming Fun

(MS) - Once school has let out for the year, many kids find themselves with a lot of free time. But why settle for the same old summertime activities? Kids can transform the lazy days of summer into a world of imagination and fun with video games, such as TRANSFORMERS: The Game. Video games are a pastime that entertains no matter the weather or location.

Today's video games enhance summer fun because they can be enjoyed with friends from the comfort of home, as well as taken on vacations and car trips. The realistic graphics, in-depth gameplay and many other exciting extras draw legions of fans. Plus, many games tie into hit movies or shows so players can extend their experience with their favorite characters even after the credits roll.

For example, in conjunction with this summer's release of the much-anticipated "TRANSFORMERS" film from Dreamworks Pictures and Paramount Pictures, video game publisher Activision is releasing TRANSFORMERS: The Game, which lets fans take on the role of larger-than-life robots. Players will be able to control the outcome in their battle for Earth as they choose to join the AUTOBOTS in protecting our planet or the DECEPTICONS in destroying it. With dual campaigns, the fate of the world is in gamers' hands.

TRANSFORMERS: The Game brings to life robots that can instantly change into high-powered vehicles, such as fighter jets, sports cars or helicopters. Their amazing shape-shifting capabilities continue from the big screen into the game and enable players to leave enemies in the dust or enhance combat strategy with a range of options in both vehicle and robot modes. Also part of the fun is the ability to crush, topple and wreck objects in their path. Gamers will engage in a variety of gameplay, including head-to-head and ranged combat.

Players can also take their favorite Robots in Disguise with them on the road with two different Nintendo DS versions, TRANSFORMERS: AUTOBOTS and TRANSFORMERS: DECEPTICONS. The games feature 20 unique challenge missions, allowing gamers to take the action even further than the film itself. TRANSFORMERS: The Game is also available on the PSP® (PlayStation® Portable) system and features more than 20 characters from the film as well as those from previous generations.

TRANSFORMERS: The Game is available for the PLAYSTATION®3 and PlayStation®2 computer entertainment systems, the Xbox 360TM video game system from Microsoft, WiiTM home video game system, PSP system, PC and Nintendo DSTM. The console and PC versions are rated "T" ("Teen" -Violence) by the ESRB. The Nintendo DS and PSP system versions are rated "E 10+" ("Everyone 10 and older" -Violence) by the ESRB.
